I carved this sterling silver cuff from a block of wax in 1993 when I was pulled into the production offices of BATMAN FOREVER, the Warner Brothers blockbuster film by Joel Shumacher. I had a license with Warner Brothers and DC Comics to make jewelry for the launch of WB stores across the country. It was natural that I be given a chance to submit designs for the movie. Flown to LA wined and dined by DC executives and movie people, I got to see all the secret models of the movie’s gadgets like the Batmobile, the Batgun, and other Bat tools. What fun. I made this cuff for the project, and still have it today. It may have been used but the film is so fast and psychedelic with blindingly fast scenes and bright colors, that I never saw any jewelry worn by anyone anywhere in any scene…But here it is, perfectly polished and making it’s debut into the public right now. Never before shown or put on sale.
