This is a mask that I made in 1975, perhaps one of the very first I ever made, and showed it at Sculpture to Wear in the Plaza hotel. Made of brass and silver, it has a long horizontal slit through which one can clearly see through. This piece has been travelling in the exhibition called STUDIO 54 which was held by the Brooklyn Museum of Art two days before Covid 19 hit the city and closed everything down. Once the show was reopened it traveled to Canada and then to Germany. The mask has finally been returned to me and I will now always equate this piece with the length of time that Covid was locking down the world. The Mask of Red Death comes to mind…A museum piece, this is a find for the new era of art collectors.
