In 1993 I was approached by the owners of the luxury company in Spain called LOEWE. I had recently ended by long collaboration with Donna Karan and was ready to try working with a new fashion giant. Loewe was in the midst of re-defining its direction and wanted me to design jewelry for their new clothing line, and especially handbag hardware for their very lucrative soft Napa leather handbags. I spent much time in Spain, Italy and Majorca learning the DNA of Loewe, and this jewelry reveals the bold Spanish flavored look that I came upon with at that time.
This very simple necklace with the single dome in the center was the core piece of the Loewe ID in my designs for the company. Gold plated brass necklace.
