RLM WABI SABI BRASS AND LEATHER MECHANICAL NECKLACE

I have always loved how machines work, especially if they are founded on basic gears and pullys. In the early 19902 I carved a series of “mechanical parts” that would allow me to construct a variety of machine like movements within my jewelry. Look at the chunky brass parts in this piece, the ball and socket forms, the rivets and connections that look complex but a basically simple machine form. Using a touch of leather to add to the mix, I softened the harness of the total construction and made a rather sexy looking piece of futuristic jewelry.
