Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Double Wide Leaf Pin

$750.00

Availability: 1 in stock

This Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Double Wide Leaf Pin is part of a large themed group created in the late 1980’s called The Garden. These flower and vegetation pins were also used as the hardware on the new handbag collection that Morris launched in 1988. The handbags were primarily soft black Napa leather, with signature iconic matte gold plated hardware, and the collection was sold initially through Saks Fifth Avenue. All these pins/hardware designs, were carved from wax by Morris himself, displaying a unique style that is bold and spontaneous. The double wide leaf pin with the small section of branch is a beautiful design perfect for a coat or jacket. There is a flatness to this piece, hugging ones body and the exaggerated center of each leaf (what is that called?) made with a spontaneous carving hand.
