Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Medallion Disc Necklace

This Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Medallion Disc Necklace is a dramatic bold gold look. Created in the early 1980’s this vintage piece is in mint condition and is a strong statement piece. The round beveled discs, were carved from wax and look like an architectural detail. Morris was intrigued by the repeating designs found in architectural moldings and this piece shows that. There is a raised dome in the middle of each beveled disc, featuring a concave well from which the dome rises. Very sculptural, and large scale for emphasis on the runway. The links that join the discs are large concave loops, giving the piece a vey gutsy look.
