Robert Lee Morris Sterling Silver Helix Bracelet 1979

Robert Lee Morris created jewelry that is organic and architectural as see by this classic bracelet, the Helix design. Called that because of the twisting motion caused by the lining up of long tubes, at an angle, and when the bracelet is g=fastened, there is a beautiful concave like curve that is seen in the photos. The clasp is unusual because it is designed to blend in and be semi invisible. The hollow silver tubes are joined together with black linen cording that is seen on the inside of the piece. This material allows for flexing and allows for the twisting motion needed to plunge the solid closure male tube into the female hollow tube as seen in these photos. An elegant and super beautiful design, this is the last of the silver Helix bracelets in my archives.
