From the Ted’s premiere collection for Julio Espada, 1976, for which he won the Coty Award, this is one of the original pieces from that runway show. Cut by hand out of brass sheet, and plated in gold, this is a Japanese inspired form, very Zen in its simple purity of design. Notice the attention paid to Wabi Sabi philosophy , with the “crack”.
