This Robert Lee Morris Cracked Egg Necklace, is part of the Egg series which preceded the Pebble collection in the mid 1980’s. It is a one of a kind piece. Moving away from the architectural direction in the early 1980’s, Morris pursued the Egg form. Here is a spectacular necklace that packs a visual punch! The eggs were hollow castings from wax carvings, joined with a rivet system underneath, and each egg was hand sawn to show “cracked shell designs”. As usual, this design was bold and powerful while also being classic and forever modern. The warm brass and worn look qualifies this for the Wabi Sabi category.
