Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Slice Earrings

These Robert Lee Morris Gold Plated Slice Earrings are architectural in shape, sliced cylinders, cut at a sharp angle to achieve a dramatic form. Used extensively in his 1985 KL Sport show in New York City, Karl Lagerfeld loved this bold form and had me make it into large brooches and earrings for his runway. Originally designed in 1974, when I was experimenting with metal shapes and the concept of Liquid Geometry, whereby straight, or angular forms could be cut up and re assembled to become flexible and wearable. Matte gold plated brass, the earrings are hollow, lightweight, and clips.
