Robert Lee Morris for Karl Lagerfeld Large Brass Helix Earrings 1985

$650.00

Availability: 1 in stock

These clip-on Robert Lee Morris Large Brass Helix Earrings were made in collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld in 1985. Karl was doing his first USA collection called KL Sport, and he asked Morris to create the jewelry and belts for his runway show, the fall ’85. These very bold, architectural, and severe designs were in perfect synch with this collection’s direction. Modern, space age and dynamic, the jewelry was almost more hardware than typical jewelry. The Helix name came from an early design of Morris’ where brass tubing was strung at an angle so that when the entire piece bent around the neck or wrist, a beautiful concave curve appeared, like the DNA MOLECULE twists.
