When Todd tyarm swept into New York City in the early 1980’s, accompanied by his adorable girl child, he gathered a storm around himself of admirers, photographers and fashion editors, all gushing over him and his work. Relentlessly handsome, cute and charismatic, Todd charmed our world. He had created a mind boggling body of work based on precious objects that were caught and held in his woven leather constructions. I gave him a one man show at Artwear and purchased a few of his works., This piece is a major archeological artifact, an axehead, or spear point, from the Neolithic era. His other pieces included ancient fossils, important crystals, and other napped (shaped by chipping away to create a point or cutting edge on glass like stone) stones.
